This week General Casualty’s Connecticut agents began quoting and submitting their personal lines business through the insurer’s Web site, generalcasualty.com, making it faster and easier to write General Casualty policies.
“Customers want your ballpark figure to be a home run every time. They don’t want you to be $5 off. With this program, I know the quote will be accurate,” said Dennis Rupers of Don-Rick Agency in Baraboo, Wis., who helped test the program.
With Personal Lines Online Quote & Submit, agents get a 100-percent accurate quote, receive third-party reports (such as Motor Vehicle Records), and submit their business in real time. Agents can create templates using their most popular coverages and deductibles, and don’t need to re-key client information for different policies. They can also print high-quality reports to present to customers.
“It’s so easy to use that as soon as you’ve clicked through it once, you’ll know how to use it and you’ll definitely keep coming back,” said Mike Thomson of Parish Insurance in Green Bay, Wis., also a test agent.
The new application works for home, auto, renters, condo, umbrella and inland marine coverage. General Casualty agents can already quote and submit their Commercial Marketplace (BOP), contractors and workers’ comp business online and will soon add commercial auto.
General Casualty is rolling out Personal Lines Online state-by-state throughout the year.
