General Casualty Insurance Companies, which insures the Cedar Grove Resort in Ellison Bay, Wis., is continuing to investigate the resort’s July 10 explosion.
The Sun Prairie-based company is working to assess the situation and damages and settle its policyholder’s claim as soon as possible. In situations like this, where there is significant property damage, personal injuries and many involved parties, a thorough investigation will take time to complete.
General Casualty does not expect its ongoing investigation to hinder access to any local roads or businesses.
The company is following standard company and industry procedures for evaluating these types of claims, including complying with the National Fire Protection Association’s fire and explosion investigation guidelines, so that evidence is preserved and the scene is protected. The insurer is also working closely with local authorities and representatives of all involved parties to ensure the safety of the community and its many seasonal visitors.
