General Casualty Insurance Companies and its parent company Winterthur North America, also headquartered in Sun Prairie, announce two promotions and a new appointment.
Tony Buschur has been promoted to vice president of application systems for Winterthur North America, which includes General Casualty, Unigard and Southern Guaranty insurance companies. He joined General Casualty in 1982 as systems and programming manager. Buschur has more than 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, earned his Certified Insurance Counselor’s designation and attended the University of Dayton and Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio.
Jon Borgen has joined General Casualty as assistant vice president of commercial property in the company’s home office commercial lines department. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, he has 18 years of commercial lines underwriting and management experience.
Mike Schimke has been named commercial lines assistant vice president of workers’ compensation at General Casualty. He joined the company in 2000 as standard lines program manager. He has 15 years of industry experience and is a graduate of St. Norbert College in De Pere, Wis.
