This week General Casualty released its latest online quoting and submission application for the company’s 10,000 independent agents. Contractors Online allows agents to quickly and efficiently write business for General Casualty’s Contractors Program.
The company’s technical and commercial lines staff created the product using feedback from independent agents and regional underwriters. It provides real-time quotes that are 100-percent accurate, has underwriting guidelines built in and gives agents the option to print several presentation-quality reports for their customers.
It’s based on the same foundation as the company’s first online quoting and submission tool, Marketplace Online, which was released in December. Since Marketplace Online went live, new business for the Commercial Marketplace product is up 69 percent from last year, and more than 60 percent of policies are now submitted online.
“We’ve been pleasantly surprised with how quickly agents incorporated Marketplace Online into their regular workflow, and we expect that Contractors Online will be just as well received,” said Richard Kalina, General Casualty’s vice president of commercial lines.
Next the company plans to create online tools for workers’ compensation and business auto, supporting lines that are usually written with Marketplace and Contractors policies.
