The Sun Prairie community will participate in the 20th anniversary of National Night Out this evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Carriage Hills Estate Park and Renstone Park. This annual nationwide event aims to educate people on crime and drug prevention, provide safety tips, introduce residents to their local law enforcement officers, and encourage neighbors to get to know each other.
This year’s event includes live entertainment, demonstrations from the police and fire departments, kids games, free food, and prize drawings. This is the eighth year Sun Prairie has participated in National Night Out, and it has grown significantly each year. Tonight’s attendance is expected to be around 1,000 community residents between the two parks.
Sun Prairie’s Night Out is sponsored by the Sun Prairie Police Department, the Parks and Recreation Department and General Casualty Insurance Companies.
