Kip Kobussen was recently promoted to Chief Administrative Officer of General Casualty Insurance Companies. He will be responsible for the company's business systems, consolidated support services and corporate relations departments. Kobussen will also oversee General Casualty's annual business plan and other administrative and operational human resources functions.
The CAO position was recently created as part of structural changes among Winterthur's North American insurance operations. Winterthur is the parent company to General Casualty (Sun Prairie, Wis.), Southern Guaranty (Montgomery, Ala.) and Unigard (Bellevue, Wash.).
Kobussen previously served as General Casualty's chief legal counsel and assistant vice president. He started with the company in 1989, after earning his bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a juris doctor degree from Hamline University in St. Paul, Minn. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Wisconsin, and the American Corporate Counsel Association.
