General Casualty Insurance Companies recently promoted Andrew Doll to chief actuary in conjunction with a re-organization of its actuarial staff from different areas of the company into a separate actuarial department.
"This new re-aligned structure will allow the actuaries to draw on the entire group of resources available, as well as share ideas and collaborate on problem-solving approaches," Doll said. "It has also improved service to the various actuarial customers: independent insurance agents and home office and regional General Casualty staff."
The department is comprised of eight individuals and divided into three areas. Michelle Morrow leads the reserving function, Jeremy Scharnick oversees commercial lines pricing, and Kevin Anderson is responsible for personal lines pricing.
Doll previously served as assistant vice president in commercial lines. He has been with General Casualty since April 1995 when he was hired as actuarial pricing manager. In May 1998, he became specialty lines manager in the commercial lines department.
Doll graduated from UW-Oshkosh with a bachelor's degree in applied mathematics. In 1997, he received his Fellow Casualty Actuary Society designation.
