Premier Auto, General Casualty's new personal auto product, becomes effective in Wisconsin on Nov. 1 and in Illinois on Nov. 1 for new business and Nov. 15 for renewal policies.
Premier Auto combines the company's previous tiered series of programs into one. All General Casualty personal auto policyholders will renew into Premier - with the exception of policyholders in Generations,SM the company's nonstandard auto program.
"Auto insurance is a complex web of legal and financial elements," said Dan Kovac, General Casualty personal lines business manager. "Our objective was to make a complex product easier to use while making the rating structure more flexible and responsive to customers' individual characteristics."
Premier Auto automatically places each driver in the proper level, which is evaluated and updated upon each renewal. Policyholders' most recent driving records impact their rates. Good drivers benefit from the most competitive rates, and insureds with poor histories will see rates decrease as their driving records improve. Additional factors affecting rates include vehicle year, liability coverage only, multiple vehicles with Other Than Collision coverage, vehicle accident history with a non-insured driver, and insurance bureau score.
Over the past two years General Casualty has rolled out Premier Auto in its Midwestern states of operation. Agents using Premier Auto have enjoyed the convenience of only one set of underwriting guidelines for standard auto policies and keeping drivers within a household in the same program, with a credit or debit for drivers with different characteristics.
Generations is a service mark of General Casualty of Wisconsin.
