We operate exclusively through the independent agency system and offer a complete line of property and casualty insurance products for homes, autos and businesses. Approximately 1,300 independent insurance agencies market General Casualty products in 25 states.
We are rated "A" (Excellent) by insurance industry analyst A.M. Best, and we reported $1.07 billion* in gross written premiums in 2007. We are known for our financial strength, quality products, superior claims service and strong agency partnerships.
In 2007 General Casualty and its corporate parent were purchased by the QBE Insurance Group. We're now part of QBE the Americas. QBE Insurance Group, based in Australia, is among the top 25 largest insurers worldwide and operates in 44 countries.
